Schedule My Safety Inspection

• Stage I VIN Inspection: These inspections take place when the vehicle's identity is in question or a Canadian registration is present. While a variety of departments, including local law enforcement, are authorized to perform this kind of inspection, it is the customer's responsibility to schedule a Stage I VIN inspection if performed by an official state inspection facility.
• Stage II VIN Inspection: If your vehicle is older than 5 years with an out-of-state or Montana salvage certificate issued before October 1, 2011, 15 years or older with and out-of-state or Montana salvage certification issued on or after October 1, 2011, a reconstructed vehicle, is in need of additional VIN information, or called into a questing regarding its identity, then you need a Stage II inspection. It is required of the customer to provide the correct documentation, schedule the appointment, and pay the corresponding fee for a Stage II VIN inspection.
• Stage III VIN Inspection: See above for details- Stage III VIN Inspections are performed by specialized Commercial Vehicle operating examiners and inspection centers.
